These photos are of the 14 miles of Lancaster Canal from Tewitfield to Kendal. This section is not open to boats due to roads being built across it in the 1960's. Such a shame as 10 miles of it has water and is capable of taking boats now. Click on photo to enlarge or click on first photo to view as slide show

The Anderton Boat Lift was built in 1875 and connects the Trent & Mersey Canal with the River Weaver
